A compilation of nouns, verbs, and the stories they become. I've written and edited for Meg, Candy, MEGA, Esquire, Preview, and Cosmo.ph.
Others write the story, I bring them to life with my emotions and gift of gab. I've appeared in commercials and emceed for Shopee and Shop TV.
Sometimes I make artworks that go with the stories. I've designed websites and created visuals for both print and digital consumption.
WRITING & EDITING
I've written articles for some of the country's most popular online titles. My strongest assignments are about social issues, lifestyle tips, and profile features, but I am also capable of writing about pop culture, fashion, relationships, and technology when given a thorough brief. When pitching my own stories, I do so to inform, shake the table, and empower. Links to full articles will be available soon.
Also called advertorials, native ads are client-sponsored articles that blend in with the publication which they appear on. In contrast to easily-ignored display ads, native ads connect brands with audiences through informative stories told through the voice and tone of the publication. These stories are created by matching the brand or product with a publication's top performing topics found through Google Analytics. As a native editor, I created slants, assigned topics to writers, copyedited submissions, and published articles.
ACTING & HOSTING
A compilation of snippets from past projects. This includes acting for commercials, theatre/musicals, TV shows, film, and hosting for digital events.

FILM & TV
Jikka Defiño writes, designs, and presents.
Immersed in various media platforms, the editor-slash-presenter has spent over six years joining the dots between culture, storytelling, and social literacy.
Jikka started her multimedia career at age 18 as a Candymag.com correspondent, writing about fashion and lifestyle, and occasionally working on-site as an events correspondent and content model. She then worked full-time as a management trainee for Ogilvy Philippines, assisting in management of award-winning marketing communications campaigns for real estate and FMCG brands.
She returned to publishing as a features writer and editor at One Mega Group, adapting press articles, writing state of the nation articles and cover stories, and assisting in styling fashion and beauty editorials for Meg Magazine. She also wrote advertorials for MEGA and Lifestyle Asia. She eventually found the opportunity to marry her interests in both advertising and publishing—as a native advertising editor for Summit Media, the top digital lifestyle publisher in the Philippines. She has written and edited for Preview.ph, Cosmopolitan Philippines, Town & Country Philippines, Spot.ph, Female Network, and Esquire Philippines.
Since her stint in brand-driven advertising and journalism, Jikka is now determined to shift the focus of her communications work towards solutions-based journalism, where she can help amplify stories of positive change through profiling stories and community features. She is currently working in the communications team of an international non-government organization.
On top of her nine-to-five commitments, Jikka also acts in films and commercials and presents home shopping programs. She has appeared in shows such as Bakit Ka Nag-Stay, TV5's Philippines Next Top Model (as a guest), and in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. Currently represented by IMAJ (previously by Reco Models), Jikka has also acted in commercials for Jollibee, Nivea Men, BPI-PhilAm, Myra-E, Nestea, and Kuya J's restaurant. She also hosted on ShopTV Philippines and was a regular host on Shopee Live.
When not writing about herself in third person, Jikka is most at home reading the news, tapping her thoughts to reflect on social issues, and creating things for the sake of creating. She shares snippets of her life in squares on Instagram and through vlogs on YouTube.
